Accessibility at Tyn y Big Estate

Tyn y Big Estate is a characterful historic home, and while it retains many original features, we’ve worked to make the ground floor as accessible and practical as possible for guests with reduced mobility.

The main living areas are all located on the ground floor, including the farmhouse kitchen, main lounge and snug, meaning guests can comfortably enjoy the heart of the home without needing to use stairs. There are also three bedrooms on the ground floor, offering flexible sleeping arrangements for families and groups.

On the same level you’ll also find two bathrooms plus a separate WC, providing good accessibility and convenience for larger stays.

For arrival and access, the estate benefits from a long gravel driveway leading through the grounds. Guests can be driven to the top of the gravel drive, allowing them to be dropped off close to the house. From there, access to the main entrance is just a few metres via the paved area.

As a historic property, some internal doorways and floor levels vary slightly, so while the house is not fully step-free throughout, the ground floor layout provides a comfortable and practical setup for guests who need to avoid stairs.
